bharasā āmāra, ei mātra nātha! tumi to’ karunā-moy tava doyā-pātra, nāhi mora sama, avaśya ghucābe bhoy

On the Disappearance Day of Srila Param Gurudev

This is a summary of Harikatha delivered by Srila Gurudev in 2011 on the disappearance day of Srila Paramgurudev, Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhav Goswami Maharaj. ātma-nivedana tuwā pade kori

In this kīrtana, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura expresses supreme joy and bliss surrendering unto the Lotus Feet of the Lord, which offer aśoka, abhaya, and amṛta—freedom from all sorrows and fears, bestowing pure bliss. In the culmination of his expression, he declares, ‘āmi to tomāra, tumi to āmāra, ki kāja apara dhane,’ meaning ‘I am most certainly Yours, and You are indeed mine. So what need is there of any other treasure?’ This kīrtana, sung by Śrī Dinabandhu Brahmacārī, serves as a heartfelt prayer for the blessings of Śrīla Gurudev prior to his departure.

Krishna is telling Narada Goswami ‘mad-bhaktā yatra gāyanti tatra tiṣṭhāmi nārada’ (Padma Puran). 'Wherever My devotees assemble and sing the glories of My Name, Form, Attributes, Pastimes and Personal Associates is the place that I stay.' Also, Srila Gurudev would refer to Sri Vyasa Deva’s pastime of attaining eternal bliss after he wrote Srimad Bhagavatam exclusively for the pleasure of the Lord on the advice of his Guru Narada Goswami. Here Srila Bhakti Kushala Padmanabha Maharaj is affectionately remembering the same teaching of Gurudev through his kirtans and harikatha. that all the limbs of devotion should be performed with the sole purpose of propitiating the Supreme Lord and nothing else.
